Villa Description
Resting atop a dramatic cliff overlooking the straits to Guana Island, Aslantic House sits on a spectacular promontory overlooking Little Bay.
Aslantic House is comprised of five principal buildings and pavilions, each providing breathtaking views in nearly every direction. There are five bedrooms (two of which are air-conditioned) and four bathrooms, which are housed in four separate buildings.
As you pass through the entry pavilion, pathways fan out to the accommodations and many travertine terraces. To the right is the dining pavilion overlooking both the gardens and seaside cliffs with its "blow hole" - one of only several in the entire British Virgin Islands.
Through the main entry hall is the gourmet kitchen with large center island, perfect for creating everything from lavish feasts to enticing Caribbean cocktails. From the hall as well is the living area of the main building. The adjoining dining area features a large glass topped table that will comfortably seat eight guests. Cool limestone floors and large French doors lead from the living area to a shaded terrace featuring a large dining table with views along the Tortola coast.
Eleven steps below the main building is the pool pavilion, which serves as the principal common living area. From the terrace at its end, atop a dramatic 30 ft. stone wall, one can see for miles down Tortola's north shore to Jost Van Dyke some 14 miles away.
Here, too, you can keep an eye on those in your party who have ventured to Little Bay Beach, just a short walk down a gently sloping, shaded path. In the evening over cocktails, you can watch spectacular ocean sunsets from this vantage point.

Additional Information
This private, seven acre setting along Tortola's north Atlantic shoreline is unique in the Caribbean. The last dwelling ever designed by William A. Bernoudy and featured in a book dedicated to his architecture, it was recently and exquisitely updated by the well-known Tortola architect Jon Osman.
In times of heavy sea surges, ocean waves are compressed into thundering explosions of water shooting up to 150 feet into the air, often creating their own rainbows. On calm days, this secluded niche becomes a natural marine aquarium whose clear waters reveal a variety of tropical fish, sea turtles, and diving birds.
While Aslantic House's unique location offers unusual privacy, it also allows easy access to the rest of the island and is perfectly placed for whatever you want to do. Just twelve minutes from the airport, it is also only five minutes over the mountain from a variety of grocery, superb fish, and convenience stores.
To reach Road Town, the capitol of the BVI, one has a choice of taking the Ridge Road which runs along the spine of the mountain that extends the length of Tortola or the scenic coastal Blackburn 'Highway.' Either way, it's less than a thirty-minute trip.
Some of the island's finest dining is located not far away along the coast road towards Road Town. With Aslantic House's spectacular promontory setting, one is constantly tempted between views out to sea, over to Guana Island, down to Little Bay, over to Lambert Beach, or straight down to the blow hole which offers dramatic displays varying from Nature's own views of the calm depths below to its towering explosions of water.
